Idiomarina sp. Isolates from Cold and Temperate Environments as Biosurfactant Producers

چکیده
Background: The cold-adapted Idiomarina sp. 185 from Antarctic shoreline sediment and the mesophilic A19 brackish Lake Faro (Italy) were screened for their efficiency in biosurfactant production by a temperature-mediated approach, when grown rich culture medium mineral supplemented with biphenyl. Methods: oxidation of polychlorobiphenyls standard screening tests performed, i.e., E24 index detection, surface tension measurement, blood agar plate C-TAB plate. Results: During incubation medium, strain produced an excellent stable emulsion, recording 73.5%. growth isolates showed good at least one performed condition showing species-specific differences related to optimum temperature. In presence biphenyl, both created emulsions (E24 ≈ 47.5 35%, respectively), as well reductions 30.05 35.5 mN/m, respectively. Further between observed phenotypic characterization. genome mining approach on available deposited sequences closest relatives offered further insights about genes biphenyl degradation, especially microorganisms derived different extreme environments. Conclusions: Our results allowed interesting comparison which underlined metabolic patterns kinetics BS production, probably due origins strains.

Two Gram-negative strains of heterotrophic, aerobic, marine bacteria, designated PIM1T and PIN1T, were isolated from seawater samples collected from the shallow coastal region of An-Ping Harbour, Tainan, Taiwan. Cells grown in broth cultures were straight rods and non-motile. The two isolates required NaCl for growth and grew optimally at 30-35 degrees C and 2-5 % NaCl. They grew aerobically an...

Actinomycetes are unsurpassed as producers of bioactive metabolites, primarily those with antimicrobial/anticancer properties; however, their capacity for producing other natural products such as biosurfactants, has been less explored. Biosurfactants are heterogeneous surface active compounds and can be potentially deployed for bioremediation of hydrocarbons and as emulsifying agents in agricul...
متن کاملGenome Sequence of Marine Bacterium Idiomarina sp. Strain 28-8, Isolated from Korean Ark Shells
Idiomarina sp. strain 28-8 is an aerobic, Gram-negative, flagellar bacterium isolated from the bodies of ark shells (Scapharca broughtonii) collected from underwater sediments in Gangjin Bay, South Korea. Here, we present the draft genome sequence of Idiomarina sp. 28-8 (2,971,606 bp, with a G+C content of 46.9%), containing 2,795 putative coding sequences.
متن کاملMetal Reduction at Cold Temperatures by Shewanella Isolates from Various Marine Environments
Members of the genus Shewanella capable of reducing metals and forming minerals under cold-temperature conditions were isolated from 3 distinct marine habitats (the coast of Washington State, the Puget Sound, and an iron-rich microbial mat off Hawaii). Cultures of microorganisms were isolated at 8°C on nutrient agar medium prepared in artificial seawater. Isolates in this study could use a wide...
